VOLTITSA ~ FIND YOUR MUSE AT THE MET: THE AKIA SHOP X YIA MAS
VOLTITSA ~ FIND YOUR MUSE AT THE MET: THE AKIA SHOP X YIA MAS
Join us at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Greek & Roman Art wing for a “Voltitsa” (little walk) on Saturday, March 5. We’ll gather as a community to appreciate Ancient Greek/Hellenic art and artifacts and enjoy a delicious lunch! The intention of our Voltitsa is to encourage mindful viewing of art, new perspectives, community, and ultimately to help you find your own “muse” or inspiration to carry forward. We’re also excited to share and find a bit of Greece in NYC and discuss how it has influenced the very halls we’ll walk through.
Interested? More details: Maria Constantinides (The Akia Shop) and Kristina Headrick (Yia Mas) will be your hosts for the day, guiding you to several pre-selected pieces of art for discussion and facilitating your time to freely sketch and/or journal afterward. Then, we’ll walk together (a very short, pretty walk!) to Serafina for a group lunch, where Kristina will guide a short meditative intention setting and we’ll have a group discussion + lunch! The Voltitsa is meant to be equal parts guided and free-flowing so you can find the rhythm that inspires you :)
What’s included:
~ A walk through the Met Greek & Roman wing, inclusive of several pre-chosen spots where we’ll stop together for insight, guided discussion, and observation. Note: you’ll also have time to peruse independently!
~a Yia Mas journal to sketch and journal during our Voltitsa and afterward.
~Lunch at Serafina, including salad, pizza, pasta, coffee, dessert, and wine. The menu is pre-fixe.
~We will meet inside the museum at 12:00 PM. Those who register will be sent more details on the exact location.
~Pre-registration is required by March 3 as we have to get a final headcount for lunch.
~Note that you will want to arrive a bit early to be in the gallery by noon. It is a Saturday, so allocate time for lines, we suggest at least 30 minutes.
What’s not included:
~Your entry to the museum, as we know there are different pay structures and some people have memberships.
